for the Documentary Film

It is not easy these days to find an exceptional person. Someone who is genuine enough and compassionate enough – to surrender his life to giving. Leave all the magnificence of the whole wide world, and transcend to a state where none of it really matters. To go back to the roots; those that sprout from the ground we stand on and create existence. This is a little story of one such exceptional man – Jadav ‘Mulai’ Payeng.
The story of Jadav is not just about environmental conservation, but about creating possibilities about the ultimate triumph of the human spirit. His work and inspiring life is being documented on celluloid for preserving for posterity and showcasing it worldwide. Also, the Forest Man Jadav is really alone in his field. He needs support to preserve his magnificent contribution to mankind. This documentary film will show Payeng’s way of life, his effort to create the forest. When we are to reflect that one man, armed only with his own physical and moral resolve, was able to cause this desolate sandbar transformed into a dense forest, we are convinced that in spite of every everything, humanity is admirable and the human spirit is indomitable.

But when we compute the unfailing greatness of spirit and the tenacity of benevolence that it must have taken to achieve this result, we are overwhelmed with an immense respect for that simple tribal villager who was able to complete a work worthy of God. With no support from the government to protect, sustain and grow his forest, for a villager to spend his entire life to do this kind of work is absolutely remarkable.
As a proficient environmentalist, Jadav is eagerly waiting to start a similar venture in other place of India as well as in any country.
We have been making this film as a passion project and we are so proud of the work that we have done over the past 8 months planning and shooting the film, and ultimately encapsulate the complete life and work of the Forest man of India Jadav Payeng.
This is Jadav Payeng – an inspiration for the idle world, an environmentalist, a planter, a father and a husband – the forest maker of India.
